FAQ

Do you take insurance?
We do not accept all insurances at this time since many insurance companies do not pay for preventive services. As of 2009 we accept Anthem Blue Cross PPO for general medical services. Aesthetic services are generally not a covered benefit with insurance. Therefore, these services are still fee for service. As a service we will provide a copy of the codes and diagnosis for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance or for a nominal fee we can bill your insurance on your behalf.

Do you accept insurance as payment?
We are a fee for service center. Fees are due at the time of service. Having said that we are exploring accepting some additional insurance providers . At this time we are a participating provider for Anthem Blue Cross. We have aligned our fee for service charges to mirror the insurance reimbursements in most cases.

What insurance for this type of practice is best?
Which ever insurance company who will reimburse you for all or part of your treatment(s) would be ideal. But that is not always the case. An insurance with a high deductible can be beneficial as it can reduce overall premiums, allow you to pay as you go up to your deductible limit, and provide you with care for specialists, emergency department visits, labs, x rays and hospitalization if needed.
Speak with your insurance agent or contact us for a referral to insurance agents who work with us.

What insurance is not ideal?
Most if not all HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) will not pay or reimburse you for preventive or alternative care. You are restricted to seeking care within their network of providers and hospitals for high premiums and low co pays. If they provide comprehensive wellness services great. You need to get a referral for most services not provided by your primary care provider.

What about Medicare and Medicaid?
Medicare is a federal insurance which has strict guidelines. Most of the wellness services are not covered. Medicaid or Medi-Cal does not cover wellness services. We will be a Medicare provider in the future for general medical services.
